I am traveling a lot to Bangalore these days on some business and personal reasons . I find a lot of difference between the two places in most of the things. After being here for sometime I understood why Companies preferred bangalore and still prefer it inspite of lucrative offers from other states ?
Bangalore :
- Much like a capitalist economy . You wont get anything for free . They charge you for every service they do.
- The city is well planned . Roads are great and you have green cover everywhere . Pollution is fairly balanced by tree count .
- Nice public transportation . You have all kinds of buses with nice frequency . Moreover people wont try to overcrowd the buses . They will take the next one .
- People are very cultured and helping in nature . I did n't see a incident where someone is misbehaving . Most of them are convenient with neighboring state languages and of course English , Hindi . The autowala's answer you politely in the language you are comfortabe with .
- People rive according to rules . People follow traffic rules and won't cause discomfort to other riders .
- Businesses are ready to listen to new ideas and to promote them . You can do a lot of business here . All you need is a idea and with some effort you can find sponsors . That 's why its Indian Silicon valley .
Hyderabad :
- Its like a secular state . You have to take care of lot of things . You can't guess what can happen out there . Politics , community related thing , you have to take care of each of them.
- The city is much like a vast slum except few areas like Jubilee hills , Banjara Hills , Somajiguda , Software units layout..Its a poor planned city . No wide roads , No drainages .Fantastic , Ain't it ?? . You can always see people falling into potholes and dying.
- People are too rude . Not everyone but the general public is rude . They dont know how to do business . They just demand money before they complete offering the service .
- Poor Public transporation . You can see the pic for that . I don't understand why people wont take the next bus . There are some small (" dog vans " as people call them) SETWIN buses in blue color running there who stop anywhere in the middle of the road .
- People hate traffic rules . You cant guess which dog will die under your tyre haha .
- Very high level of pollution and no green cover . I bet if someone lives there for 20 years , they can die at any moment.
- High population density and less services to them . Even traders get frustrated of the amount of the people that come to their shop sometimes .
- Thinking of people is too rigid . They are not at all open to new ideas . If you have new idea, better you forget it . No one is ready to listen to it .
- Consumer spending range is too less . They dont want the money to get out of their pockets . But yes IT brought some outsiders here who are spending these days . If IT would not had been there , Hyderabad is nothing .

I was planning to come over there but a lot of doubts have arised in my mind after reading your post...
I believe you have poor knowledge about both Bangalore and Hyderabad. May be you should explore Bangalore more, you will realize the problems. There more power cuts in Bangalore than any other metro and there is severe water crisis than any other places. Don't get carried away with few roads you look at. Please enter alleys and places where middle class people live you will know what a slum is.
Please compare the airport facilities. Having Louis Vuitton or Springfield will not make any city cosmopolitan. Retaining our traditions and culture is being more cosmopolitan. Wearing miniskirts does not make anyone cosmopolitan. I would appreciate if you can create healthy competition and not criticize any Indian City and there are so many advantages Hyderabad has what Bangalore does not have and vice a versa we should be one country instead comparing and trying to find flaws.
If IT is not there in Bangalore simply Bangalore is nothing. I am sure India's top Infrastructure companies are from Hyderabad, so called infrastructure creating companies of Bangalore like Prestige, Purvankara or Shoba have never explored beyod Bangalore and just restricted to create so called modern apartments and malls.
I recommend you to read about GVK, IVRCL, Nagarjuna, Maytas, Lanco, Nayayuga these infrastructure companies are ruling India with developing Huge Airports, Power Projects and Dams. These companies also own projects overseas. These companies are owned and developed by people of the same and none of them belong to the emigrant population.
Hyderabad will soon have Infosys world’s largest development center and Infosys is based out of Bangalore and why could they not create the same facility in Bangalore.
Hyderabad has Indian School of Business which is featured as top 20 colleges in the world for business management.
Hyderabad has largest facility of Microsoft outside Redmond.
Hyderabad has world’s largest Film Studio.
Hyderabad has hosted and will continue to host Air Shows and it has attracted the A380 for the recent shows.
Hyderabad has more Pharma companies than any other city.
Hyderabad has one of the largest convention centers in India called “Hitex”
Bangalore “Namma Metro” is being constructed by Navayuga, so please choose your words and have some basic knowledge about what you write.

Bangalore is more cosmopolitan, hyderabad is more telugu culture dominated city and I would say it is 70-75% of Bangalore in GDP.
I liked your post. I took hate lot of things that go around in Hyderabad. I have seen Hyderabad grow over last 24 years especially in last 15 years.
Well few facts to add to your post, which are missing:
1. In Hyderabad, you can travel alone at anytime, be it day or night. You can't think of going alone after it's dark in Bangalore. Taxi drivers rape and kill BPO and IT professionals in Bangalore. You get mugged if you are walking a lonely street.
2. About public transport yes, Hyderabad as gone back by few years since current Govt took charge. However, there is no answer to Hyderabad's MMTS in Bangalore. I know Bangalore is getting Metro Rail, but so is Hyderabad.
3. And about Bangalore having wider roads than Hyd. Believe me this is one of the funniest statements I have read. To say so your are either joking or you are an idiot who is commenting without knowing the facts.
4. Climate in Bangalore is wonderful and pathetic in Hyderabad.
5. Hyderabad is much more diverse than Bangalore in terms of ethnicity.
Percentage of Telugu speaking people in Hyderabad is less than percentage of Kannadigas in Bangalore. There are lot of Marathi's, Marwadis, Muslims(20%), Sindhis, etc in Hyderabad. As such there is no back slash like Kannadigas in Hyd.
6. Bangalore has lot of Gardens is good.
7. Bangalore's IT and ITES industry is far more bigger than Hyderabad's.
8. Bangalore's realty sector is much more matured and crowed with good players than Hyderabad's realty sector.

- This is not true. Clashes between religious communities are very rare. Hyderabadis welcome people from outside unlike bangaloreans. You can find tonnes of orkut communities along the lines of "bangalore is full - northies go back" but you will not find anything like that for Hyderabad.

The views you expressed about hyderabad and bangalore comparing are not true except about the climate.
You can't see people in Hyderabad having grudge and hatred for outsiders unlike in bangalore.About pollution and roads bangalore is far worst than Hyderabad.
How come you say that the roads in bangalore are wider nice and beautiful than Hyderabad.It seems that you have explored the worst areas in hyderabad and very nice places in bangalore.

Do you think that you are most intelligent than US gov. why did they preffered hyd instead of bang. Bang has good climate ...thats it nothing ... You need to know what a Historic City Means .... Hi I lived in both cities Hyderabad and Bangalore...
Except the climate there is nothing much or nothing much happening in Bangalore except the IT industry. I read in the local editions of big English news papers in Bangalore daily criticizing the way Bangalore is developing and admiring the way Hyderabad is developing... now I think Subhash should also read the newspapers daily about the number of people fall in potholes in Bangalore… most of the areas in Bangalore is still having historic “Open drainage” systems with no proper cover on it…where as most of the cities including Hyderabad has a very good under drainage system...I used to enjoy the options and flexibility I had while I was in Hyderabad during the weekends… after coming to Bangalore I feel there is not much left in my life to explore except the Big Malls here which are of course where well present in Hyderabad too. I don’t belong to any of the cities... but I strongly feel Hyderabad except the climate when compared to Bangalore rocks in every sense…
Advantage to live in Hyderabad city:1. You will have round the clock water and power available 2.Most delicious food you can ever have available in city with very vast choice whether veg or non-veg 3. Number of entertainment places available, culturally rich and diverse both north and southerners comfortable. 4.Lots of heritage structures and Museums, Forts, palaces etc for tourists 5. very safe 24 hours even for girls with cheaper auto taxis available drivers reliable.6. Worlds 5th best international Air-Port 7.Large number of very good malls (99)and Imax 3D and Multiplexes 8. Traffic Jams less compared to Bangalre 9 All residential colonies well planned with greenery and many more to teel if you have time

Guys im in marketing and i travel to hyd frequently being a bangalorean, i agree your hyd is great blah blah, but what i feel is it is very dusty far beyond most people imagine and also your autos are still running in kerosene, bloody you cant breathe the fumes in the road, it was the same way in blore a few years ago, now it is like one guy in a street, it is much cleaner in bangalore, within three day s i was feeling like going back to blore becos of the pollution and dust , all your roads are great, but your dust keeps coming back to the road and the vehicles keep genrating clouds, the eyes water , i think ive made my point
It is very funny to compare two cities, everything has positive and negative things.
If I talk about Hyderabad, there are infrastructure giants like IVRCL, NCC, Nvayuga, GVK etc these can be no where compared with B’lore based infrastructure companies like Prestige or Shoba who can’t build anything more than luxury apartments with poor standards.
People who criticize they should know about Phrama Industry ,Hyd has bulk drug makers like Dr Reddy’s and not to forget the research institutions like DRDO,NIN,CCMB,IICT, CDFD etc
Tata and Mahindra’s have chosen Hyd over B’lore for their Defense and Aero Space projects.
International Rice Research Institute is setting up their first facility outside Philippines in Hyd and not in B’lore
Top B-Schools and have chosen Hyd not B’lore IIM-A , IMT, XLRI and colleges like Tata Institute of Social Sciences and not to forget Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
Hyderabad has Asia’s largest convention center called HICC and this year’s prestigious Word Wide Web Conference will be held in Hyd and not B’lore
Please look at ORR in Hyd they have spent whopping 6000 (project status with pictures on www.skyscrapercity.com) crores on this project and these roads are designed keep in mind the requirements for next 20 years, so what plans B’lore for the future? The ORR in B’lore is nearing saturation in spite the swanky new flyovers,
B’lore will soon be crowded like Mumbai and I am happy that Hyd is slow and it has less people moving in and will be less crowded and more livable and affordable, I wish to see B’lore growing at the rate of 300%

Hyderabad is more than heaven. in not only respecting others but also in every kind of aspects. in Andhra pradesh which is the largest state in the south, 3 regions telangana, coastal andhra and rayalaseema are fighting for the one and only beautiful city hyderabad. then what about bangalore? once i visited to mysore and returning back to hyderabad, in between these in just a fraction of seconds bangalore was vanished but visit to hyderabad and just see how much time it takes for crossing the Hyderabad city in either train or in a bus. we have three types of specialized city buses while no other city have. we have local trains and what about you? we have a tollywood in hyderabad which is the second largest film industry in India. do u have? we have Imax where there is no other city in south India possess it and how about you? we have both neckless road and ring road, do you have? we have delicious hyderabadi biryani, haleem, patthar ka gosh, irani chai, which brings mouth watering. and what about your food? you have a Mysore city which is nearer to bangalore and we dont have any other city around 200km because our hyderabad is enough and sufficient city to every one.we have south central railway, and what you have? so please while typing words just check the words and type.
If everyone hates Bangalore, that is good news! Please get out of here, so that we can live peacefully.
My name is ram.... first of all we should stop bothering about hyd and bangalore... bcoz the cities are just capitals of respective states... one up for telugu people because whole bangalore is covered with telugu they have acquired land reddys th... they are quiet rich at the expense of kannada people... and apart form that... telugu people in bangalore as well as hyd are not that good ... mostly rowdies(some people are good though)...
Hey guys, if you'll think that Hyderabad is that good with whatever facilities you all mentioned, then y do ppl from Andhra come n settle here, forget about the climate and IT industries, people come here to do some business,if your Hyderabad is that good then y don't they stay there only, even an Andhra beggar feels that is better to beg in Bangalore than to beg in Hyderabad,apart from jobs how many people do you see migrating from Bangalore to Andhra.. may be 0.001%, but so many people from Andhra come here for various jobs and business's.. So, if you guys are so keen about your city, then if any of your relatives stay in Bangalore, ask them to come back to your state itself.. y don't you guys do that..

Hello Kannadigas, its a fact that people from Andhra and fuckin Tamil Nadu are jealous of this great city, so just sit back and imagine their faces and laugh.. Somebody on the top has spoken about Kannada movies and hero's, i think he doesn't know anything about any language movies. i really laugh big time when i see these Telugu movie scenes, a hero can belt 100 people with one hand and when a hero just touches the villain, he'll go flying 1 km from the place he was standing, all the Telugu films have these scenes,and even for a small argument they involve 1000 TA-TA sumo's, i know people who read this comment also would be laughing out there... but in Kannada all most all the scenes are realistic and songs are awesome, that's y in the recent past, many Kannada movies got dubbed to telugu and other languages, and almost all the hero's in Telugu are character less including senior NTR and his son's.. and junior NTR is born to hari Krishna's step 'KEEP',its so funny about those people, guys im laughing here, let me continue laughing bye.. I was born and raised in bangalore. Six months back I moved to hyderabad. The experience has not been very bitter but sometimes I feel Hyderabad is very lousy. Freaking power cuts almost 6 to 8 hrs in a day. Practically no public transport system and bloody auto walas demand very high prices. Till date I have not found a single auto with meter which was never the case in bangalore. The big plus point in hyderabad is the outer ring road which connects to the airport from IT hubs. Other than ORR I don't see many big roads in hyd.
Also the drianages are horrible and the city stinks when it rains. Bangalore drains are far better. The weather honestly speaking I don't see much of a difference except in summer where bangalore is much cooler bcoz of the beautiful green cover.
A weekend in hyderabad is the most boring thing. Only thing you can do is watch movies there are no good hang out places near by. Where as in bangalore you can find beautiful places within proximity of 200 kms.
But I have not had any problems with the local people they have been very friendly and helpful just like kannadigas in namma bengaluru.
We can proudly say both these cities are playing a vital role in our countries economy. But if you want to lead a comfortable jolly life I would always say BANGALORE!

Hyd is trying to up its green cover now. Hyd metro will cross ur metro like our Airport did. Ur Airport, city apartments mostly built by telugu people.
English speaking population are inc now in HYD. HYD all cultures and respects every tradition not like secular BNGLR.
HYD has little dust but will settle down permanently.
Food wise , HYD's variety delicious food.
Roads are narrow in Bangalore where no future planning for population explosion is done. More cars means not grt but where public transport is used then its a mature city and its people.(see abroad, they use much public transport don't showcase personal wealth)
Hyd was rich in wealth before Independence, search google. IT, pharma, aero, Construction are additions to its wealth. Hyd has many govt HO's.
City can't develop by itself, its frdly people (local, mostly immigrants) who does this job.

1st bnglore locals try to be good with Immigrants (& mostly with children). Look after them, bcoz they brought money n intelligence into ur city.
Hyd was a well established cosmopolitan city than Bangalore before Independence and was chosen by Grt Indian as a second capital of INDIA at that time. It has and had all the rich before too. few people are spoiling its name but can't do for ever. It may fall for some time but has a big good +ve rise.
CBN is a intelligent, hardworking leader thats why Big people helped him to develop IT more. Now the present Govt too trying to up the lost IT mojo.
Folks, i want to give few constructive feedback. One serious problem with most metros/cities is cleanliness and dusty roads. Otherwise the city and people are very similar all over India.
In Bangalore, the roads have footpaths on either side and no sand/mud. This reduces dust. If not for this idea which is followed everywhere in Bangalore, it would be a nightmare considering the vast IT population and number of vehicles on the road.
Public transportation is bad in both Hyderabad and Bangalore. Unfortunately Hyderabad it is worse than Bangalore. Chennai is THE best for public transportation in India.
I also noticed that the city workers in Bangalore are more disciplined and take the act of cleanliness seriously compared to other cities i have visited.(excluding Gujarat)
Food is pathetic in Bangalore. I mean, for bachelors who tend to depend on outside food on daily basis 3 times a day. Otherwise, there are good restaurants like every other city if you are ready to spend 200+ for every meal.Old bangalore has some really good small mess, but otherwise food is a main pain point. Hyderabad and Chennai score well in this aspect.
Hyderabad has good autowalas in old city. However, IT hub autowalas are very bad. Same is the case with other IT cities too, but it is worse in Hyderabad. Chennai has a lot of share autos compared to other cities and is very much affordable for people from all classes of life. Hyderabad also has share autos but very few and mostly normal autos are used as share autos.
In terms of affordability and major decisions in terms of infrastructure, equality etc I see Chennai scoring well. Because most of the policies, food, transportation etc are implemented by making sure that even the poor would feel benefited.That is very important.
