So again they used iframe to prevent this .Now you can not see the URL of the image in source . So , how to save orkut profile display picture ? . There is a very simple solution to achieve this . • Once you open the profile of the person whose pic you want to save , go to Tools--> Page info in your firefox browser as shown in the figure .

• Now Click on media tab and navigate through picture URL 's as shown in figure below .

Reality children

I am watching a show in one of the regional channels these days where they are organising a competition of singing for children with title Sarigamapa - little champs . I saw both series of this show . Its good to see kids singing , but the way they are made to , It dont seem to be entertaining . I dont know whether the government will ever come up with a law whether there is a lower limit on children's age before they get introduced to this unreal dramatic reality shows .

Did you notice the little kid on the right in the above picture ? She might be hardly 5 years old . She can not even speak properly . She can not even understand comments given to her song by judges properly . She never sang so beautifully till now that she get a chance to sing in a finale . I agree she used to sing very cutely as she is still a kid but ...... The only reason by which she probably would had got forwarded till grand finale is becase she is a reason for the increase in ratings of this show . People used to see the show as it was good seeing the kid singing very cutely .They even promoted the show 2 or 3 times showing the judges giving her bad comments and the kid getting embarassed as a trailer .So weird .

Itwas atleast fine . Now they brought her to finale and again they made her cry . That is the promo for the finale . They showed the same trailer 100 times a day . In the finale they made her sing for two hours and in the end they sent her home crying . It was soo embarassing to watch that show .When the show ended , I decided never to watch that channel again . Better you also dont .

And dear parents , next time you send your kid to a show , dont think just your kid will get name and fame . Think of their feelings before you send them in . For the channels , its just a commercial event . Send and encourage your kids to participate only when you think they really fit in there easily .

Yesterday I was writing javascript and I came across a problem where I had to remove a value from a array in javascript . As usual I tried Array.remove[index] . But it did not work . So how to remove a element from Javascript array ?

Its quite simple . There are two functions which serves your purpose .

splice :

Usage : If you know index of the element / elements to be removed ,
ArrayName.splice(index,Noofelementstoberemoved) ;

E.g : If you want to remove single element from second position in Array=['one','two','three','four','five'];
use Array.splice(1,1) . The result will be ['one','three','four','five']; .

Remove :
If you dont know the index of a particular element to be removed but you know the value of it ,
You can use remove .

Usage : Array.remove('Valuetoberemoved') ;

E.g . To remove fifth element in the above array , use Array.remove('five') ;

My Gtalk is not displaying current music track in Windows Media player ?

I installed Windows Media player 11 and its not displaying my current music track in Gtalk instant messenger . Lot of users are facing this kind of problem . So how to show current music track in Gtalk ? Its quite simple . Just follow the steps below .

Nachavule review - A typical Ravi babu direction - Produced by Ramoji Film City

One line review : 50 -50 .. Its a ok kind of picture.

Pro : Comedy in first half of the movie .
Con : Extreme psentiment in second half .

Nachavule is a story of two teens who are just done with their matriculation and how they fell in love after that ( obviously with troubles ). Director ravi babu dealt with the feelings of a teen girl extremely well in the first half of the movie . He was almost nearer to reality in this context . But in the case of the guy , he just came with usual telugu movie stunt featuring a fellow who wont do any other thing in the day except roaming behind the girl and going nuts about her . The family of the guy is somewhat comical . A dad who never cares about his wife and who never knew how to express his love to kids , A mom who does everything to her husband thinking he will thank her someday for what shez doing and defending her kids whenever they do a mistake , A little brother who steal things in his home and sell them in shop . The converstations between the dad and the little brother of the hero are very funny . E.g In telugu paina means Top and kindha means Bottom . The father asks the kid to give names of fruits showing a page with figures of a pine apple on top and a apple in bottom . The kid replies , Paina apple (Top apple) and kindha apple (bottom apple ) [:)] . One more is like the father asks him , if you have six sweets and i ask you to give me two , how many will you have ? The kid replies "Six" . The father aks him how ? The kid replies Its because I wont give you my sweets haha .

The first half of the movie is dealt with the guy trying to find some girl friend as he never had one in his life . He eventually tries and suceeds in impressing Anu to become his friend ( who works in a coffee shop to help her diseased father ) . The hero saves Anu 's father life once and Anu promises him that she will return his favour in any way he asks her . The guy asks her to be his girl friend for 15 days and if she feels he is not good enough for her , she can leave . But Anu fell in love with the guy in the 15 days and she ends up kissing the guy which is recorded by the guy in his mobile . After this , the guy is able to find lot of girls and he forgets Anu . With this the the first half ends and the troublesome second half starts . One day heroes little brother steals his phone and sells it in a mobile shop . The mobile shop owner sees the MMS and circulates it all over as a result of which the girls life gets spoiled . Now the girl hates the guy . In the mean the guys mother fell ill and she dies . But she makes her husband and kids realise how to take care of each other after she dies and what a woman expects from a man . The guy realises this and he is back on business . Now the movie is about what troubles he will cross to get the girl .

Believe me , Second half is extremely psentimental and if the movie would had been a little bit longer , I would had walked out . But the first half is worth watching . Technically the movie is very good like other Ravi babu movies who display some effect of hollywood on his movies photography .

Once you install WINE , follow the steps below .

• Check whether WINE is installed or not by typing the command : locate wine . It should display a list of WINE related files .
  
• Make sure you have mounted the windows drive .
• Edit the file /etc/wine.conf by changing the line under ' Drive C ' to Path=/mnt/win .
• Save the edited wine.conf file and copy the file user.dat to your Windows directory c:/windows/profiles/ .
  
• Now type: cd "/mnt/win/Program Files/Accessories" then type: wine ./Notepad.exe .
• This will run Notepad on your Linux OS. You can load other programs also by giving suitable directory paths .
• If you are planning to run a game or other program that uses your midi , then Linux midi-sequencer needs to be installed .

Note that for running all kinds of programs you need to load sound and graphics properly related to that program which I can not explain briefly in this post .

Most of the IT engineer might be working on remote PC 's in their day to day life . One of the very common problems we face working in remote PC is that you can not copy and paste things from your remote environment to your local desktop ( You might be restricted or something else ) . In such a case , if you still want to copy something from remote environment to your desktop , How can you achieve it ? Technade gives you two ways to achieve the same .

Tweak windows : You need to do a simple tweak inorder to achieve this which is as follows . Go to your control panel by navigating Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services . Now you can see services listed over tere . In the list enable and start the following services in the order shown below:

Thats it , you can now copy and paste text / files / graphics from your remote desktop . If you want to check whether its working or not , Open your clipboard viewer by typing clipbrd in your run prompt and check .

Sometimes , you can not do this , if you do not have enough previliges to enable services in your computer .

Method 2 ( via internet ) : In that case you have one service called CL1P.net which acts as internet clipboard . Remember that you need to have internet connection on both the computers . All that you need to do in this website is Enter a URL that starts with http://cl1p.net in the text box given. Replace technade below with any word you want .
E.g : http://cl1p.net/technade/.

In the page that opens upload text ,graphics , files ( size upto 30 MB) by selecting the appropraite option in the left side menu which looks like as shown in the figure . Access the same URL from your other computer and get the text or files whatever you want .Good thing with this site is we need not have to fill signup form to do all this .

A day back I was returning from my morning walk and I heard a conversation between two women ( Probably educated illiterates ) . The conversation is as follows .

First one : " You know Mrs X had a girl " .
Second one : "Poor X why didn't she had a abortion "
First One : " I heard doctors never let you know whether you are going to
have a boy or girl .Otherwise who wants to have a girl "
Second one : "Yeah , it will just act as burden to their family and nothing
else "

These kind of conversations still can be heard in our society even in a part of educated families which is absolutely pathetic . I don't understand why girls are still considered a burden to the families of these people . People should always understand that giving birth to a girl is a contribution to the society where Male : Female ratio is increasing . If the ratio continues to increase further , a day will surely come when men start fighting for girls . Girls are soft and gentle , but they can survive easily in the present world of opportunities . There are enough jobs for women . People need to understand every job is not done by a person who is tough . There are some jobs which can be handled better by females and they are doing it. I have seen ladies who contribute well to their families and who have been successful . I know girls who even went big in their life and those who are on the way to go bigger . They are never a burden to us instead they are assets which need to be just managed .

I know no illiterate is going to read my blog , but still may be someone among you educate someone among them . Sometimes its good to write about some noble cause .

Like other IT engineers , I criticise my company always but internally I am always proud to be a Tata employee . We have a respect in the global societies which many other company employees never hold . We as TATA employees are people who always keep on contributing to the society . Tata companies always incorporate certain level of social responsiblity and ethics in their employees . Thats why staff of Taj lost their lives for the guests . Tata 's respect their employees with great value .For the things that happen to Tata ' s I always feel what I would had done if I am Tata ?

For people like us , money matters . In business we
will do everything possible to regain our lost rupee . I bet most of the
highly grown businessmen have done some wrong thing in their life to reach the
position they are in today . Its very tough to grow being a good person
always . You have to act tough and take decisions that do bad to someone
. If I would had been from a conglomerate such a Tata , I would had forced
government to compensate my losses in the form of some discounts or giving some
additional benefits to me always . I would had never retained people for a
moment when my company is in losses . I would had always tried to create
monopoly as I am the first businessman in the nation and I would
not had let others grow in my areas . If I would had suffered as much
as Tata , I would had lost interest in contributing to the nation and I would
had became agressive in getting money somehow .

Thats why I am not a TATA . Thats why they are great people . We as a nation respect you legends . Thanks for contributing to our nation .

We normally add our website sitemap to Google web master Tools so that it help Search engine bots to index our pages better . Many of us don't know that there is one such tool from another search engine giant , Yahoo i.e Yahoo Site Explorer . So , How to submit a website sitemap to Yahoo Site Explorer ?

• Go to Yahoo Site Explorer and type your website URL in the Text box (First box in the picture ) and hit Explore URL .
• If you see some results , your site has already been included , else you have to add it manually by entering your website URL in the My sites column (Second box in the figure ) .

• If you are doing this after logging in Yahoo its ok or else Yahoo will prompt you to login .
• Once you logged in , Click on your website link in the Mysites column .
• You will be taken to a summary page where your websites Authentication status , Homepage and number of feeds will be shown .
• On the left side of this page , you can find a menu as shown in the figure. Click authentication in it .
• Now you need to authenticate your URL by either uploading a file to your server or add a meta tag to your homepage .
• Once you are done with it , Click on Ready to Authenticate . Your authentication status will be changed to pending . Yahoo will verify your website in 24 hours .
  
• In the left side menu , you can see feeds option . Click on it and you can submit the feed of your blog in a text box which look like as shown in the figure .

• Now wait for 2-3 days and you can see better results from Yahoo.

Maruti A Star - The new dude in town

Maruti Suzuki has launched the A-Star in the market yesterday targeting the export markets especially the Europe . Like other Maruti's, A Star comes in three versions - Lxi, Vxi and the ZXi. The ZXi variant comes with ABS ( Anti-lock Braking System ) + EBD (Electronic Brake Force and Air-Bags as standard and rear window defogger along with a dashboard integrated 4-speaker music system and an AUX-IN to connect your iPods . The AUX - IN features is there in VXi variant also.

A- Star comes with Suzuki’s 3-Cylinder, 1 Litre KB series engine with 67 Ps of maximum power @ 6200 rpm and 90 nm of torque @ 3500 rpm. The car has been placed in the market by Maruti so that they can compete better with the Hyundai 's best selling car i.e i10 at this moment .

Compared with i 10, A star has go brutal looks . I went to the showroom yesterday and had a look , and you know what , It has got killing looks from the front especially the headlights . But its back looks much like a combination of Santro and Alto moudled like swift . The dash board also looks pretty much cool with a integrated music player . But One thing I dont like is , it gives me feeling of driving a matiz from inside i.e as a driver you wont feel like you are placed at a better height so that you can view comfortably over the dashboard as shown in the figure.

A Star rides on 13-inch tubeless tyres 155/80 R13 and comes with gas-charged dampers. Front suspension is the universal Mc Pherson Struts and Coil Springs while rear is an Isolated Trailing Link Suspension with Coil Springs.

The car will be built exclusively in India for the domestic market and will be exported to 150 countries accross Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Asia, Australlia and Africa.The A-Star comes in a total of 9 colors: Azure Grey, Arctic White, Sunlight Copper, Midnight Black, Paradise Blue, Silky Silver, Healing Green, Bright Red and Desert Brown.

Difference between Straight Cable and Cross cable : Make your own Cross Cable

Before you know the difference , you need to know what is the purpose of Straight cable and a crossover cable ?

You need to use a Straight cable when connecting hardware to a computer through some Ethernet hub or switch. We normally use straight cable to connect more than 2 computers through a hub . Use a crossover cable when connecting two similar equipment like Two Ethernet cards without a hub or switch or two hub 's or Two switches . we normally use Crossover to connect two computers directly.

Why is it called Cross Cable ?

A standard CAT 5 cable has a 1-to-1 mapping of pins from one connector to another. A crossover cable connects the transmission pins from one end to the receive pins on the other end (crosses them over, hence the name). When you use a hub , this crossing is automatically done . Hence you can use straight cable when you are connecting through hub or switch .

So How to make your own Crossover cable ?

Last weekend , I thought of connecting two PC's in my room for playing games . But I had only straight cable . I converted straight cable into Cross cable very simply . First see the figure below which depicts wire combination which we have to do .

Remove the outer jacket of your straight cable . Take care so that wires inside do not get damaged . Now you can see wires in the colors as shown in the right side of the figure . That is how your wires are connected in a straight cable . Now cut your green wire and orange wire , and then join green wire with orange and orange wire with green . Similarly Green-white with orange and Orange-white with Green-white . Apply some plaster to this and you are done . No messing with end to end pins and stuff . How to merge spliited mkv files ? play mkv.002 file ?

Yesterday I downloaded some media files and I found them with extensions which are similar to spliited rar file like .mkv001 , .mkv002 , .mkv003 .... I had already installed Klite codec pack and I even have Video LAN player in my PC . I am able to play .mkv001 but not others. I had to search lot of places until I found a solution . So how to play .mkv002 file ? What can we do to get the entire movie in one file ? Follow the steps below to Combine and play mkv file .

• First of all , you need to install Codecs for playing matroska files . You can download Klite Codec Pack from here .Install it and you can play .mkv file in Windows Media player .
• Alternately you can install Video Lan player which you can download here and play a .mkv file .
• Now download HJSplit from here and extract it . HJsplit will be useful in merging the splitted mkv files .
  
• Open hjsplit.exe file and click on join which is shown in the figure . In the dialog widow that pops up , Show the .001 file.
• Select the output location and click start .
• Joining will be completed and a message will popup " Joining Completed " .
• Now go to output location you specified and plat the .mkv file either with VLC player or Windows media player (if codec installed ).

How to download a whole album from webshots ?

Yes, This is possible with Firefox browser . Firefox supports Add ons which lets us add extended functionality to our browsing experience . You can download a entire a album from Webshots with one such extension called ' Webshots Photo Album downloader ' .

Note : Users has reported that this add on works for previous versions only . Pls check the alternate method .

Download Webshots Photo Album Downloader for Firefox .

Install this addon and restart your Firefox Browser .

To download an album, right click on the link to it and select: Download Webshots Album . A dialog window will popup showing the number of photos you are going to download . It won't notify you after download is completed . Just check your downloads folder for completed download .

Alternate method :
You require the following to your Firefox which are listed below for this one to work .

• Download Them All .
• Greasemonkey
• Thumbs2links (Install this only after installing Greasemonkey as it is userscript for Greasemonkey )

Now go to your webshots album and search for 28 pictures per page (Max number allowed ) link which will look like this . At the bottom right of your screen you can find a link Get Direct Links!, click that , scroll to the bottom of the page where you can notice links getting populated. Let them complete and you will notice 28 links which look like as follows .

(X will replaced by some random digits or alphabets )

Now right click in the links frame and Click Download Them all . In the download them all window , Check the images and Start downloading .

It might be hard to download only 28 images but its the only way out guys .

How to open UIF files ?

A day back I downloaded a file from internet and to my surprise it did not get associated with any application in my PC eventhough I had lot of softwares installed . I checked out the extension and its somewhat different . its .UIF . So what is this UIF and How to open these UIF file for free ??

Universal Image Format ( UIF ) is a powerful compression file format for
backuping CD/DVD and storing it with reduced size . It is fast, reliable, andhas rich set of features which include password-protected, data encryption, MD5 checksum support and much more. UIF can not only contain the complete data of CD/DVD just like ISO image, But UIF also supports backuping multi-session CD/DVD, Audio-CD, VCD, SVCD and DVD-Video .UIF is very much popular among those who download torrents as people compress their file to UIF format before sharing them .

So how to open or decompress UIF files ?

You can achieve this only in two ways . Either open it using some freeware or convert it into some other format like ISO so that you can open it with your softwares . For opening it through first method , You have to use one software named Magic ISO .

Method 1 :

Download Magic ISO .

• Once you complete downloading , Click on File --- > Open . A dialog window will popup . Navigate to your UIF file and open it .


• Once the file is loaded , right click on it and click on Extract .


• It will ask you for your preferred output location . Select it in the dialog window , and click Ok .

Thats it you are done .There is one restriction with the trial version of this magic ISO . It can only open UIF files upto 300MB . If you want to open files of larger size , you have to get full version which you can find very easily on torrent sites or you can try method 2 . If you want to download through torrent ,throw a comment , I will give you the torrent link .

Method 2 :

Download UIF2ISO converter , extract it and use it to convert your .UIF file to .ISO format . Once you have converted it to ISO , you can write it to CD/DVD or extract it through some freeware .

How to prevent disk check on every restart of Computer in Windows XP ?

Due to heavy power cuts these days ,I restarted my PC many a times without shutting it down properly . This resulted in a abnormal function in my PC where "A check disk utility will run every time I restart the PC " . It checks my disk and it gives no error .But next time I restart my PC , again it will check my PC . Why is it happening and How to prevent disk check on every restart of your computer ?

This actually happens because of Windows setting Dirty bit on a particular drive.

What is Dirty bit ?
A Dirty bit is a bit in a memory cache or virtual memory page that has been modified by the CPU, but not yet written back to storage."If a volume's dirty bit is set , this indicates that the file system of the volume may be in an inconsistent state for one of the following reasons."

• The dirty bit can be set because the volume is online and has outstanding changes.
• Changes that were made to the volume and the computer shuts down before the changes were committed to disk
• The volume is corrupted . If the dirty bit is set when the computer restarts, Chkdsk /f verifies file system integrity and attempts to fix any problems with the volume.

So How to get rid of this ? Technade has a simple solution for you . Follow the steps below .

• Open Command prompt by navigating as follows Start --> Run and type cmd in run the prompt .
• Now type fsutil dirty query driveletter: . Replace driveletter with the drive on whom disk checking is running everytime . For E.g if the problem is with E: drive , you have to type fsutil dirty query e: .
  
• The result should be The volume is dirty .
  
• Now type CHKNTFS /X D: . The X tells Windows not to check that particular drive on the next reboot.
  
• Repeat the above 3 steps for all drives on which Check disk runs on every reboot .
• Now restart the computer and you will see Check disk not running .
• Now Open Command prompt again and type Chkdsk /f /r driveletter: (E.g for E: drive Chkdsk /f /r E: ) .
  
• It will do disk checking in 5 steps and will unset the dirty bit .Again type fsutil dirty query driveletter: and check the result whether drive is dirty or not .
• Repeat the above two steps for all drives on which disk check is running every time you reboot .
  

Now restart your PC and there will be no disk check.

Drive not opening on double click ? Choose program menu opening on double click of drives ?

Are you experiencing any of the following problems ?

• Open and Explore in right click menu not opening drives .

This normally happens when your antivirus deletes autorun.inf file or some other virus . You wont be able to access your drives by double clicking because of this . So how to get rid of this ? Technade has a simple solution for you . Follow the steps below .

• Open Registry Editor by opening Run Prompt and typing Regedit and hitting Enter .
• Now press ' CTRL + F ' and type " mountpoints2 " in dialog box and search .
• Once you find it , delete the key from Registry editor . Right click on mountpoints2 and click delete .
• Now again repeat the same procedure by searching for mountpoints2 until you don't find in the registry.
• Once you deleted all the mountpoints2 keys in registry , you close the registry and you are done .

You can now open your drives by double clicking on them .

Want to lock a folder so as to prevent others using your computer from viewing its contents ? Normally we use third party software to achieve this . I found a good way to lock a folder in Windows XP without using any third party software .

• Save the notepad and change the extension of the file from ".txt" to ".bat" .
  
• Now you have created a batch file . You can even customise the batch file by following the below two points.
  
• Replace Technade which is in bold letter with the name of the locked folder you want to create ( Optional ) .
  
• You can change the password also by replacing " technade123 " in the above code with your new password ( Optional ).
• Now place the batch file in the location where you want to create your password protected folder .
• Run the batch file by double clicking on it. This will create a folder named "technade" in the same location as the batch file.
• You can now open the folder and place the files inside .
• After placing the files , run the batch file again . It will ask you whether you want to lock the folder . Press' y' and hit enter .
• The folder will become invisible . To reopen the folder , run the batch file again . You will be asked for a password .
• Enter the password and hit Enter . You can view the contents of your locked folder .

Note : After locking the folder , don't keep it in the same location as anyone can open the batch file and see your password . Keep it in someother location , and whenever you want to open it , Place it back in the location of locked password and run it .

How to turn off Low Disk Space warning in Windows XP ?

Annoyed by the Low disk space warning that comes in the tray icon whenever your disk runs out of space ? Do you want to turn of the Low disk space warning ?

• Open your registry editor by typing " REGEDIT " in the run prompt .
• Navigate as follows : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Policies\ Explorer.
• Now Right Click in the right pane , Click New -> Dword and name it as NoLowDiskSpaceChecks. .
• Double-click on NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, and enter the value as 1, and press OK.

Thats it . From now on you wont get annoying Low disk space error .

How to rename the Recycle Bin ?

Did you ever try to rename the recycle bin? You cannot do it just by right clicking and click rename as this option wont appear in the right click menu . I found a very easy way to do this .

• Open Registry Editor by typing " REGEDIT " in the run prompt .
• Now click on Edit ---> Find in the top file menu .
• A dialog window will open as shown in the figure . Type "Recycle Bin" and click on Find Next .
• Now in the right side pane , Double click on Default , and Replace the text in the dialog Box with the new name .
• Click OK and close the registry editor.
• Now refresh your desktop and you can find your recycle bin renamed.
